Nothing Like the Holidays
Synopsis:
It’s Christmas time and the far-flung members of the Rodriguez family are converging at their parents’ home in Chicago to celebrate the season and rejoice in their youngest brother’s safe return from combat overseas. For Jesse, coming home has rekindled feelings for an old flame, although she can’t seem to forgive him for leaving. His older sister Roxanna, a struggling actress, has been chasing her Hollywood dreams for years with little to show for it. And much to the dismay of their mother Anna, eldest brother Mauricio brings home a high-powered executive wife who would rather raise capital than a child. In the course of one eventful week, traditions will be celebrated, secrets revealed and major life decisions made. It all begins when Anna announces to her children she is divorcing their father Eduardo. The shock waves from this familial upheaval prompt Roxanna, Mauricio and Jesse, each in their own way, to reevaluate the past and rethink the future. But when the Rodriguezes learn that one of their own is facing a true crisis, they instinctively pull together: Old resentments are forgotten, familial bonds are re-affirmed and the healing power of laughter works its magic as the family discovers they are much stronger than they ever realized.

Four Christmases
Synopsis:
No one enjoys the holidays more than Brad and Kate. Every December 25th, this happily unmarried, upscale San Francisco couple embark on a holiday tradition they have shared every year since they met, ditching their crazy families for a relaxing, fun filled vacation in some sunny exotic locale. There, sipping margaritas by the pool, they toast the season, knowing they have once again avoided the chaos and emotional fallout of their four respective households: divorced parents, squabbling siblings, out of control kids and all the simmering resentments and awkward moments that are the hallmarks of every family Christmas. But not this year. Shorts and sunglasses packed, Brad and Kate are trapped at the San Francisco airport by a fogbank that cancels every outbound flight. Worse yet, they are caught on camera by a local news crew, revealing their whereabouts to the whole city and to their families. With no escape and no excuses, they are now expected home by Brad’s father. And Kate’s mother. And Brad’s mother. And Kate’s father. Four Christmases in one day. As they brace themselves for a marathon of homecomings, Brad and Kate expect the worst and that’s exactly what they get. But as Brad counts down the minutes to their freedom, Kate surprisingly finds herself tuned to the ticking of a different clock. At the end of the day, each will gain a new perspective on where they came from and where they’re going. PG-13 | 2 hr | Comedy, Family, Holiday Movie
A Christmastime drama centered around the Whitfield family's first holiday together in four years.
Synopsis:
Christmas has always been an elaborate production at the Whitfield home, and this year is no exception. With her grown children and their significant others all present for the first time in years, Shirley “Ma’ Dere” Whitfield is in her element. Stockings have been hung, cookies have been baked and old resentments are starting to bubble up. Oldest daughter Lisa, also known as Sister, is trying to convince the rest of the family to sell the dry cleaning business their mother has run for years so her overly-ambitious husband Malcolm will have the capital he needs to close an important business deal. Her sister Kelli, a high-powered business woman, is dead set against doing anything Malcolm wants. Youngest daughter Mel is home from college and primarily interested in finding a private place to canoodle with her latest beau, Devean. Ma’ Dere’s son Claude, an active duty Marine, arrives with some unexpected news while his younger brother Baby has a surprise of his own for the family. When estranged eldest son Quentin, a jazz musician, makes a surprise appearance, he neglects to tell the family he’s on the run from his gambling debts. Despite her extensive preparations, Ma’ Dere’s plans for a cozy holiday soon begin to evaporate. When the siblings head out to an L.A. nightclub for some fun, an off color remark by another patron sparks a fight and Claude ends up in jail. Later, Kelli spends the night with Gerald, a handsome fireman she meets at the club, Malcolm flies to New York on a last-minute “business trip” and a pair of thugs comes looking for Quentin with mayhem on their minds. Meanwhile, Ma’ Dere is harboring some secrets of her own, such as the full extent of her relationship with longtime boyfriend Joseph Black.
